ORGANIC (Customized 3D Printed prosthetic leg cover)
The concept behind the Art4Leg is to create a fully customized and stylish cover for each user. The style and functionality of the cover gives
the prosthetic device a new dimension. At the heart of Art4Leg cover is the belief of creating a positive talking point and improving selfconfidence
of an amputee using Art4Leg cover. Tomas Vacek, the lead designer of the award winning project says “The Art4leg prosthesis
cover is shaped into the form of a natural human leg. 3D scanning is used for customization by taking accurate 3D scans of the user’s
healthy leg. The personalized surface of the cover expresses the lifestyle of the individual for whom it has been designed. The cover is 3D
printed from durable plastic. It is attached to the leg prosthesis by using high-powered magnets that hold the front and back panels tightly
together.”
